Depart Hartford via Southwest Airlines, Thursday morning, July 4, 2019

Arrive Denver, pick-up rental vehicle and travel to Gunnison (via St. Elmo) for the next 4 nights (base for Crested Butte/Lake Irwin area)

Depart Gunnison Monday, July 8 for Grand Junction, Colorado for the next 3 nights (base for several national parks and monuments in Colorado and Eastern Utah, south of Moab)

Depart Gunnison Thursday, July 11 for Glenwood Springs, Colorado for the next 2 nights (base for Aspen and Maroon Bells area)

Depart Glenwood Springs for Leadville and Denver/Denver Intl. Airport for the next night, Saturday, July 13

Depart Denver Sunday afternoon, July 14 for Hartford via Southwest Airlines

We invite you to join us for all or part of our tour. We are allowing 4 nights in Gunnison for the wildflower festival and a few other area attractions, in order to assure some good weather for hiking, photography (along the easier trails!) and wildflower viewing. Gunnison is our base for Crested Butte, about 28 miles to the north. Grand Junction is the base for several of the national parks/monuments mentioned above. From Glenwood Springs, we plan to visit one or more hot springs and the Maroon Bells/Aspen area.  Departing Glenwood Springs, we will stop in Leadville - Colorado's "Historic Gem" - with the final night near Denver International Airport for the nonstop trip home the next morning...

This is an independent tour. We will arrange hotels, rental car and even air on Southwest if you like (or you may make your own air arrangements). You can travel at your own pace and do your own thing! The wildflowers are an incredible sight and the festival should be on your bucket list! The official festival dates for 2019 are July 5 to 14, as an FYI...Let us know if you are interested...we would love to have you travel with us July 4th!
