A late winter snow begins to fly in the Colorado mountains... |
| Steven A. Hubbs of Providence, Rhode Island, photographed these gorgeous scenes in Vermont, Rhode Island and Colorado. The starfield photo was taken from a small picnic area at the end of a dirt road at the northern tip of Lake Whitingham (aka The Harriman Resevoir) off Route 9, just west of Wilmington center. He says it was pitch-black and the Milky Way "cloud" could be clearly seen - in the absence of any light pollution - on such a clear, chilly night! The peaceful sunrise was shot while on a canoe outing on Tillinghast Pond, just north of West Greenwich Center, Rhode Island. In Exeter, Rhode Island, the Arcadia Management Area offers 14,000 mostly-forested acres maintained by the Rhode Island Division of Forest Environment. Mulitple trails often lead to lovely scenes such as the brook and small cascade above...The amazing winter scenes were taken March 10th, 2010 in Colorado...Thanks Steven!!! |
